ITINERARY
DAY 1: DELHI
Arrive Delhi. You are met at the airport and transferred to your hotel. Overnight
is in Delhi.
DAY 2: DELHI
After breakfast you will embark on a comprehensive tour of Old and New Delhi.
You will visit the beautiful Lodhi Garden, the Buddha Jayanti Park, and the
gardens surrounding Humayun's Tomb. Overnight is in Delhi.
DAY 3: DELHI - SRINAGAR
This morning you will be transferred to the airport for your short flight to
Srinagar. Upon arrival you will be met and transferred to either your hotel or
houseboat. The day is free to explore the city or to go on a shikara boat ride
around Dal Lake. Overnight is in your accommodation in Srinagar.
DAY 4: SRINAGAR
This morning you will awaken early to witness the colorful floating market where
everything from flowers to vegetables are sold on boats. After breakfast, you
will visit Pari Mahal or The Palace of Fairies with its ancient gardens from which
you have breathtaking views of the city and Dal Lake. The afternoon is free to
explore the bustling markets for exquisite Kashmiri handicrafts. Overnight is in
your accommodation in Srinagar.
DAY 5: SRINAGAR
A full day is dedicated to wandering around Srinagar's famous moghul gardens.
You will visit Nishat Bagh (the Garden of Spring), Shalimar Bagh (The Garden
of Love), and Chasma Shahi (The Royal Fountains). Overnight is in your
accommodation in Srinagar.
DAY 6: SRINAGAR - DELHI
Today you will catch a morning flight back to Delhi where you will stay for the
night.
DAY 7: DELHI - AGRA
This morning you will be driven to Agra en route visiting Mathura, the birthplace
of Lord Krishna, and the deserted city of Sikandra. When you arrive in Agra
you will check into your hotel Later you have the option of seeing the Taj Mahal
as the sun sets. Overnight is in Agra.
DAY 8: AGRA - JAIPUR
If you didn't see the Taj Mahal last night you can see it this morning. You also
have time to see Agra's gardens: Mehtab Bagh, Aalsi Bagh, Ram Bagh, and
Dayal Bagh. Later you will be driven to the Pink City of Jaipur. Overnight is in
your hotel in Jaipur.
DAY 9: JAIPUR
Jaipur has its share of beautiful gardens. See Amber Fort and Garden,
Vidyadhar Garden, and Sisodia Rani Ka Bagh which was created to rejuvenate
the Queen and royal ladies. Overnight is in your hotel in Jaipur.
DAY 10: JAIPUR - JODHPUR
This morning you will be taken to the Blue City of Jodhpur. After checking into
your hotel you have the day free to see the Mandore Garden as well as
Meherangarh Fort, Umaid Bhawan Palace, and Chamunda Devi Temple.
Overnight is in your hotel in Jodhpur.
DAY 11: JODHPUR - JAISALMER
After breakfast you will be taken to Jaisalmer which is home to Bada Bagh or "
Big Garden." Other sights to see are Jaisalmer Fort, several Jain and Hindu
temples and Jaisalmer's finely sculpted sandstone havelis. Overnight is in your
hotel in Jaisalmer.
DAY 12: JAISALMER - BIKANER
Today you will be transported to Bikaner. After you arrive in the afternoon you
can see Junagarh Fort and Garden, go on camel safari, or shop in the various
markets. Overnight is in your hotel in Bikaner.
DAY 13: BIKANER - DELHI
Today you leave for Delhi en route stopping to admire the havelis of
Shekhawati and Fatehpur Sikri. When you arrive you will check into your hotel
for the night.
DAY 14: DELHI
You will be taken to the station or airport for your onward journey. Tour ends.
