ITINERARY
DAY 1: DELHI
On arrival in Delhi you will be transferred to your hotel. Overnight is in Delhi.
DAY 2 : DELHI
Today you will go on a comprehensive tour of Delhi. Overnight is in Delhi.
DAY 3 : DELHI - BODH GAYA
In the morning you will board a train for Bodh Gaya. Bodh Gaya is the place where the
Buddha attained enlightenment, and the most important Buddhist pilgrimage site in the
world. Overnight is in Bodh Gaya.
DAY 4: BODH GAYA - VARANASI
The morning is free to continue your exploration of Bodh Gaya. Later in the day you will be
driven to Varanasi Overnight is in Varanasi.
DAY 5: VARANASI
A full day is scheduled in Varanasi to explore the city and temples. Overnight is in
Varanasi.
DAY 6: VARANASI - KHAJURAHO
In the afternoon you will take a short flight to Khajuraho. The erotic sculptures of these 22
temples date back to the 10th century AD. They have been linked to everything from
Tantric cults to Kama Sutra instruction to a carved depiction of the marriage party of Shiva
and Parvati. Overnight is in Khajuraho.
DAY 7: KHAJURAHO - AGRA - MATHURA
The morning is free for independent activities. In the afternoon, you will take a short flight
to Agra to visit the Taj Mahal, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. In addition to
the Taj Mahal, you will visit Agra Fort, the Old City, and the nearby city of Mathura, the
birthplace of Krishna. Overnight is in Mathura.
DAY 8: MATHURA
A full day is set aside to explore Mathura and nearby Vrindavan. Overnight is in Mathura.
DAY 9: MATHURA - AGRA - FATEHPUR SIKRI - BHARATPUR BIRD SANCTUARY
In the morning you will leave for the deserted city of Fatehpur Sikri. In the afternoon, you
will continue a short distance west into Rajasthan to the town of Bharatpur where the
Keoladeo Bird Sanctuary, a World Heritage site, is located. Overnight is at your hotel
DAY 10: BHARATPUR BIRD SANCTUARY - JAIPUR
At dawn you can enjoy a safari/boat ride in the Keoladeo Bird Sanctuary. In the evening
you will leave for Jaipur. Upon arrival yo will check into your hotel. Overnight is in Jaipur.
DAY 11: JAIPUR - DELHI
The morning is free to spend as you wish. In the afternoon you will be driven back to Delhi
Overnight is in Delhi.
DAY 12: DELHI - HARIDWAR - RISHIKESH
Early in the morning you will travel to Haridwar. Haridwar is one of the most important
Hindu pilgrimage cities, and is filled with temples, ashrams, bathing ghats, ancient Indian
study centers. In the evening, participate in the Ganga aarti puja, a ritual ceremony
combining the elements of fire and water. Later in the evening you will be driven a short
distance to Rishikesh. Overnight is in Rishikesh.
DAY 13: RISHIKESH
This holy Hindu pilgrimage city is oftentimes referred to as the "Yoga Capital of the World,
" and many seekers have come here to receive ancient wisdom. The day is free to spend
at your leisure. Overnight is in Rishikesh.
DAY 14: RISHIKESH – DELHI
The morning is free until the time for you to drive to Delhi. Upon arrival in Delhi you will be
taken to your hotel, to the airport or station for your onward destination. Tour ends.
